Frequently Asked Questions

Credit is very important to your financial health, but there’s a lot of mystery to it. We’re here to bring transparency to your credit profile, starting with answering your questions.
Will this hurt my credit?

Accessing your credit profile is considered a “soft inquiry”, which does not hurt your credit score or show up on your credit report.

Will I see my mortgage credit score?

Not yet, but we’re working on it. Currently, our platform displays your Vantage score. It gives you an idea of your credit standing, but it’s not the same score as you’ll see when a lender pulls your credit. For this reason, we are updating our system to see your true Mortgage Score. We will update users when it’s available.

Is this service free?

This service is free to users. We may reach out to you with relevant resources and offers that could help you in your homebuying and homeownership journey.

Why is checking my credit important?

Many homebuyers make the mistake of seeing their credit report for the first time when they apply for a mortgage. By then, errors or credit issues could delay their homebuying timeline. It’s recommended that future homebuyers check their credit months or even years before they want to buy.

Do you need great credit to buy a home?

Not always. Certain programs, such as FHA loans, allow lower credit scores. That being said, it’s always better to have as high a score as possible to get a better rate and to have access to more program options.
